Are YOU:
Aged 55 or over and thinking about releasing Tax Free Cash from
your pension?
Then Robert Bruce Associates can help you.
Whether your pension is a personal plan or from an ex-employer, you could unlock up to 25% of its value – Tax Free – for any reason you choose. You may want to:
- clear or consolidate existing debt
- make further investment elsewhere
- clear a mortgage or other loan
- have an alternative to taking a loan
- Clear your mortgage!
Is Pension Release the right option for me?
If you opt to release some of your pension now, you will almost certainly get less pension income on retirement, so you need to think carefully before going ahead. However, it may make sense for you to release some cash from your pension now rather than take on another painful long-term loan. We will be happy to look at each individual situation and advise accordingly. For example, in certain circumstances another loan is the last thing you need. And if you have financial difficulties, then it's not uncommon for loan companies to take advantage with charging higher or additional security demands.
So as part of a sensible financial-planning exercise, releasing cash from your pension could be a real option for you. If you've been paying into a pension scheme for more than five years, the chances are we can help.
What are the Advantages and Disadvantages?
Advantages: You could unlock up to 25% of your pension and receive the cash Tax Free, with no interest payments or additional security.
Disadvantages: You will be reducing your final pension fund by the percentage released and as a result, the payments you receive during retirement may decrease. For this reason, Pension Release is not suitable for everyone.
How Long Does it Take?
It’s hard to predict an accurate timescale, as this can depend to some extent on your pension company, so it’s important not to rely on Pension Release as a ‘quick fix’ for your financial situation. However, once you have filled in some questionnaire forms so we can contact your pension company, we will do all the chasing on your behalf and we’ll keep you informed at every stage of the process.
Is Pension Release Right for Me?
As with many retirement planning options, Pension Release is likely to be suitable only for a certain type of customer or in particular circumstances. As with all retirement planning options, Pension Release needs to be looked into carefully before going ahead. Each individual case and circumstance will of course be different, but if your need for cash is a sufficiently important, it might be worth reducing your pension income later in return for some Tax Free Cash now.
Can I still continue to make contributions to my pension after I've release some Tax Free Cash?
Yes. Any new contributions you make after undertaking a pension release will be treated in the same way as before and will attract tax relief. New contributions will go back into your fund and added to the existing pot, which you will benefit from when you retire.
Do I have to give up work to receive a lump sum from Pension Release?
Not necessarily. You can continue to work as normal, but you need to note that it’s impossible to release funds from your current employer’s pension scheme if you are still eligible to make contributions.
